Tijs Velthuis is a Dutch professional footballer born on January 12, 2002, in Oldenzaal, Netherlands. Standing at 1.90 meters tall, he plays as a left-footed centre-back. As of May 2025, Velthuis is on loan at Italian Serie B club US Sassuolo from Sparta Rotterdam

Velthuis began his football journey with local club Quick 20 before joining FC Twente's youth academy in 2012. In 2019, he moved to AZ Alkmaars youth setup, where he developed further and eventually played for Jong AZ, the clubs reserve team
